Hungary's gold reserves rose to $15.69 billion in August 2026, from $14.32 billion in July, according to the International Monetary Fund. The August value remains below the all-time high of $18.32 billion set in February 2026, but is up from $12.04 billion a year earlier. The series, which began in April 2000, has shown a general upward trend over the past year, with the latest reading marking the second consecutive monthly increase after a decline in June. The value is still well above the all-time low of zero recorded in December 2016, according to the IMF.
