India's current account goods deficit widened to $86.09 billion in the second quarter of 2026, from $83.44 billion in the previous quarter. The deficit was larger than the $68.89 billion recorded a year earlier and remains near the series low of -$95.87 billion set in the fourth quarter of 2025. The balance has been negative since at least the second quarter of 2023, according to the International Monetary Fund.
