Foreign-exchange reserves (ex-gold) rose to $121.9 billion in August 2026 from $113.8 billion in July. The value remains below the all-time high of $137.9 billion reached in February 2026. Year over year, reserves are up from $97.5 billion in August 2025. The latest figure is the second-highest in the past six months, after the April reading of $126.7 billion, according to the International Monetary Fund.
