Slovenia's real GDP growth rose to 4.83% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, up from 3.47% in the previous quarter. This marks the strongest pace of expansion since the first quarter of 2022, according to the International Monetary Fund. The latest reading extends the recovery from a contraction in early 2025, when growth stood at -0.48% in the first quarter. Compared with the same period a year earlier, the economy grew at a faster clip, with the year-ago figure at 0.78%. The current rate remains well below the all-time high of 15.28% recorded in the second quarter of 2021, but also far above the record low of -10.89% seen in the second quarter of 2020. The series, which began in the first quarter of 1997, shows a steady acceleration over the past four quarters, according to the International Monetary Fund.
